I have a question for you. What do you believe is the single most important factor to being a successful business owner?
Stop and think about this for a minute. I’ll share my answer below but first I want you to write down what it is to you.
Single most important factor to being a successful business owner:
Why?:
I’d love to hear your thoughts, send me your answer!
Ok, perfect! Now I’m going to share my answer. If it doesn’t match yours, that’s ok. They may be related, they may synonyms, they may end up at the same destination.
Now, I know you are a successful business owner so you have probably delved into professional development and high performance topics before. This probably isn’t anything new, but are you acting on it.
Mindset is the biggest factor to your success. Mindset is the start and end of your success; intentional living will change your life and business, one day at a time.
Mindsets are beliefs about yourself, your world and the experiences you will have. It ties into the Law of Attraction, the law that what you focus on is what you will attract into your life.
When I was the busiest and most burnt out in my business were the times when all I could think was “I’m so busy!” I was so grateful to be busy with client work, but I was also overwhelmed and my business was running my life.
What words do you use throughout the day to control your life?
Take control of your words and keep your day focused
This morning as I was driving back from my BNI meeting and thinking through my day, I started to get a little panicky as I realized how many projects, activities and marketing items I had to do today. But this time I caught myself, rather than getting caught up in it I coached myself…
I made a list of the 3 most important things I needed to complete today and then started comparing my day against those items. I realized that although I would love to do 2 things on my list, they didn’t meet up with my 3 most important things and yet took a large chunk of time away so I was able to remove them without feeling as guilty.
How often do you get caught up in the “busy-ness” of your day but forget to focus on the most important pieces that actually move your business forward?
Each day, focus on a list of the 5 most important things to do each day to reach your bigger picture business goals. Make sure to list them in order of priority, and to work through your list in the order that you have written them down.
