When You’re Too Busy to Rest: What I Relearned About Burnout, Business, and Breakthrough

I have to be honest with you.

I’ve been hitting a wall lately.

The kind where the tasks in your business feel like they outnumber the hours in your day. Where you end each evening with that gnawing sense of not quite enough. Where a little voice creeps in whispering, you’re falling behind.

Sound familiar?

I know it does for a lot of the women I work with. But here’s the part I didn’t expect: it was happening to me too.

The Moment I Dropped Myself

I’m running a flexible schedule around our two-year-old, and somewhere in the juggle, I dropped something important.

Myself.

It hit me this weekend in the most unexpected moment.

I was trying to get my toddler to nap without using the car as a crutch (fellow parents, you know the struggle). And sitting in that quiet and frustration, I realized I hadn’t been doing ANY of the things that actually keep me grounded.

No walks. No journaling. No time to breathe, reflect, or just… be.

And then, I had to laugh out loud at myself because of all people, I should know this!

This is one of my main principles in the work I lead other women through.

And here I was NOT doing one of the biggest things I advocate for.

The Shift That Changed My Business...Yet I Forgot

Some of my biggest breakthroughs didn’t come from working harder.

They came from giving myself more grace.

Ten years ago, I used to treat walks and personal time like items on a task list, or even a wishlist. They were nice if I got to them. But always easy to skip when things got busy.

Then I made a shift. I started treating them as non-negotiable gifts to myself.

I started making $10k and $15k months of profit when I took walks purely for the joy of it.

Not because I was grinding harder.

But because I was finally aligned.

The walks were just an outward sign of the inner work I’d been doing.

The Shift Started Like This

The very next morning, I used nap time differently.

Instead of attacking my to-do list, I journaled. I sat with the resistance I’d been feeling in my business. I did a tapping session for me. Not for a client.

I came out of it feeling more like myself than I had in weeks.

This is why I teach what I teach. Not because I read it in a book. But because I keep coming back to it myself. Every. Single. Time.

The Lie We Keep Getting Told

Society is really good at pulling us back into the hustle, at making busyness feel like productivity. It convinces us that rest is something we earn, not something we need.

And I fall for it too.

But here’s the truth.

When you’re too busy to do the thing… that’s exactly when you need to do it.

Recognizing the pattern IS the win.

Most people stay stuck because they never see it. And when you see it, congratulations! That’s when you know that your next breakthrough is right around the corner.

So I want to help you create it now.

So Here's My Question For You

What’s the thing you keep saying you’ll do… only to keep putting it off?

The walk. The journaling. The quiet morning before everyone needs something from you.

Want to find out which pattern is yours?

I created a free 3-minute quiz that identifies exactly which Business Success Trap you’re running and what to do about it. No fluff. Just clarity.
